We are constantly being challenged in the field and always meet those challenges with creativity and innovation. Our people are the best in the business which will assure you that we will solve any problem as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- RAK Corrosion Control is affiliated with the American Federation of Labor and has negotiated an International Agreement with the Painter's Union (formerly the Brotherhood of Painters). Our people are efficient, extremely qualified, experienced and have been with our company for many years.
- Most of our work is centered around, but in no way is confined to, coke plant and blast furnace environments, pickling equipment, water and waste pollution applications, concrete applications, and general corrosive conditions. RAK also applies roof coatings, tank linings, and food processing plant coatings.
- RAK sandblasts gas mains, tanks, water lines, repairs gas leaks which are then primed with a phenolic primer, followed by the application of glass reinforced polyester (FRP), up to 1/2 inch thick. Last, we apply 5 to 6 mils of a phenolic epoxy as a finish coat. This work is performed without any operational interference, as a spot repair and/or an entire area.
-
RAK has applied this same treatment to precipitators, saturators, final coolers, gas washers, ammonia stills, tanks and piping in benzol plants and the interior and exterior of fiberglass tanks. RAK has also replaced vent piping in gas holders which were badly corroded.
-
RAK performs repairs on fiberglass and steel acid fume exhaust systems and also installs fiberglass systems that we fabricate
-
RAK fabricates and installs flockulators, weirs and skirts in thickener and settling tanks for water treatment plants.
- RAK performs concrete restoration and protection for concrete floors and tanks in acid environments and at nuclear power plants.
- RAK is also a Tank Lining installer and we repair any fiberglass vessels
- RAK is an approved contractor for the Armex Blasting Process. This process uses Armex Media (baking soda) as the abrasive blast media. This blasting process is almost dust free and has been used to perform depainting operations on process lines while they are in operation.
- RAK installs a Flame Retardant Electric Cable Coating manufactured by Vimasco. This coating system has been tested, and during a fire the cables that had been coated sustained no damage.
- RAK has had success since the 1960's in the application of sprayed urethane foam on tanks (hot or cold), building insulation, mine insulation, and as a re-roofing method. As the cost of energy continues to climb, conserving these vital resources becomes very important. For this reason, the justification for applying urethane foam on roofs and other areas becomes more cost effective.
- RAK has compiled Urethane Tank and Roof Specifications.
- RAK installs fluid applied roof coatings for the restoration of metal roofs.
- RAK applies Urethane Protective Plastic coating in food processing plants where constant painting on metal in processing areas can be eliminated.
- RAK has developed two methods for asbestos encapsulation. Again, contact us for information.
- RAK does extensive work in secondary containment, such as the coating of concrete to prevent the seepage of contaminates into the environment. We also apply geothermal membranes for secondary containment directly over dirt or gravel. RAK can also use this membrane to keep moisture from permeating and contaminating soil.
